"Reconstructing Journalism's Public Rationale"
Start Date: 4/15/2014Start Time: 5:00 PM
End Date: 4/15/2014End Time: 6:30 PM
Event Description:
Join CU Journalism & Mass Communication for the annual Ralph L. Crosman lecture, featuring noted media scholar Nick Couldry of the London School of Economics. Couldry will discuss the need to build public understanding of journalism in the digital age. In an era when the public has unlimited sources of information and journalism revenues are plunging, Couldry argues that the industry must explain why its ethical standards and information-gathering techniques remain essential.
Couldry is a professor of media, communications and social theory at the London School of  Economics. The Crosman lecture honors Ralph L. Crosman, the first director of journalism at CU-Boulder.
