Engineering Leadership Program Seminar: Jim Gallogly
Start Date: 4/24/2014Start Time: 5:00 PM
End Date: 4/24/2014End Time: 6:00 PM
Event Description
Join us for a special Engineering Leadership Program seminar to be held from 5:00-6:00 p.m. April 24 in ECCR 265!

Our speaker will be Jim Gallogly,
CEO of LyondellBasell, one of the world’s largest chemical manufacturing and refining companies. LyondellBasell operates from 58 manufacturing sites in 18 different countries, with annual revenues of $42 billion. Prior to joining LyondellBasell, Gallogly served as executive vice president of Exploration & Production for ConocoPhillips. He was named to that position in 2008 after serving as executive vice president of Refining, Marketing & Transportation for ConocoPhillips since 2006. Gallogly joined Chevron Phillips Chemical as president and chief executive officer in 2000. Previously, he served Phillips Petroleum Company as senior vice president of chemicals and plastics, vice president of olefins and polyolefins, and vice president for North America production. Gallogly joined Phillips in 1980 and held various roles in exploration and production, legal and finance in the early portion of his career, including international assignments.
Gallogly will be speaking on “Emergence,” the story of how ConocoPhillips merged into a single company and how LyondellBasell emerged from bankruptcy. He had leadership roles in each company as they emerged from their previous existences into new multi-national corporations. Gallogly is a graduate of the University of Colorado, and has been a long-time supporter of CU and our College of Engineering and Applied Science, where he has served on the Engineering Advisory Council for a number of years.

Attendance from all ELP students is required unless you have an academic/athletic/job conflict.  Please inform JoAnn Zelasko at zelasko@colorado.edu if you cannot attend.

Events are open to all engineering students.
