CU on the Weekend: “How Unconscious Bias Hurts American Health”
Start Date: 12/7/2013Start Time: 1:00 PM
End Date: 12/7/2013End Time: 4:00 PM
Event Description
Evidence shows that with few exceptions minorities, women, and the poor in this country receive inferior health care and therefore live sicker and die earlier. Ethnic and racial health care disparities are the result of imperceptible and unintentional implicit biases held by providers and patients. Dayna Matthew, professor of law, will explain why these inequalities and health outcomes persist and what can be done to change them.

CU on the Weekend is a series of one-day classes that are free and open to the public.
