Understanding the University Lecture

(This workshop is part of the Fall Intensive 2013)

How can you make a large lecture class a stimulating and engaging intellectual environment? What are the challenges you might face, and how are they different from teaching a smaller class? ...How do you reach the students at the back of the classroom? What can you do to make teaching a large lecture class fun for yourself as well as a challenging learning environment for the students? This workshop explores these questions and some practical responses based on pedagogical research and years of experience.
