Event Description

Film maker Dani Franklin spent four months in the Peruvian Amazon
and came away with the chaos, pain and lightness of a spiritual,
cultural and personal journey.

Out of that experience, she presents Grey Magic, an experimental film
documentary that illuminates her spirit journey with the Shipibo community
of Central Peru.

In her healing from an intense series of events, Franklin explores the
dichotomy of the victim and the oppressor on many levels – including the social,
historical and personal. She accomplishes this by incorporating the haunting
medicine songs of the Shipibo community as well as her original
film animation and live action 16mm footage.
