Event Description

Understanding Classroom Interactions Through Interactive Theatre
Rebecca Brown Adelman Co-Director and
Saira Hamidi, Managing Assistant Director
The Interactive Theatre Project

(This workshop is part of the Fall Intensive 2013)

"To Fight or Not to Fight" An interactive theatre performance and discussion presented by the Interactive Theatre Project

This session will explore our relationships with students and the boundaries within that.  Do you see yourself as approachable and personable?  A friend or mentor?  What would you do if one of your favorite students was about to make a decision that you deeply disagreed with?  Would you intervene?  In this session we will use Theatre of the Oppressed techniques to engage in discussion regarding boundaries between instructors and students and how to navigate these challenging situations.  While the topic matter is relevant for new instructors, the approach using theatre can also be used in your classrooms as a pedagogical tool to inspire greater discussion among many community issues. www.cuitp.org
