Event Image Spring Campus Tree Walks
5:00 AM - 7:00 AM

CU Museum of Natural History and Facilities Management will be hosting their annual Spring Campus Tree Walks with Arborist Vince Aquino and Alan Nelson, retired Outdoor Services Director.

Originally founded on a treeless plain the development of Boulder’s campus “forest” that we know today was an early project of students, faculty and staff who were determined to recreate the lush campuses of the east coast.  Learn about these trees and their history while walking through campus enjoying the spring blooms. Since the time when the first plains cottonwood was planted near Old Main the CU tree population has grown to nearly 5,000 trees and more than 100 species, many

imported from across the U.S., Europe and Asia.

Tours are free, open to the public, and will start at the south entrance of the CU Museum of Natural History at 15th & Broadway. Reservations not required. All ages are welcome.

Home: American photography at the CU Art Museum
March 2 - July 15, 2017

Is home “where the heart is”? Is it a building, a landscape or a state of mind? Drawn from the photography collection of the CU Art Museum, Home investigates how American photographers working from the late 1800s to today have engaged with these questions. Through a presentation of landscapes, family photos and candid portraits visitors are invited to consider central themes of the exhibition, including environment, nostalgia and family.

What does home mean to you?
We invite our guests to respond to the images and ideas presented in the exhibition by visiting a special programming space in our FlexSpace gallery, open from February 2, 2017–March 25, 2017.

This exhibition is generously supported by CU-Boulder Student Arts and Cultural Enrichment fees, and CU Art Museum members.

The series is open to anyone (i.e. you do not need to be involved in a romantic relationship to attend). Since these sessions build on each other, please commit to the four-part series.
