University Libraries CU Legends Series presents Honoring the Life and Work of Joyce Champan Lebra.

Join us for an evening celebration of Joyce Lebra, CU Boulder’s first woman history professor and the first American woman to earn a PhD in Japanese history, with talks by History Professors Fred Anderson, Mithi Mukherjee and Miriam Kingsberg Kadia.

“An Asian Attachment,” a visual interpretation of Lebra’s evolution from a young girl in Hawaii to innovative researcher in India and Japan, and to professor emerita at CU Boulder, will be on display through 2018 in the CU Legends Hall on the second floor southwest in Norlin Library.

The event is free and open to the public, and light refreshments will be served.
