This event is limited to CU and DU Students, Faculty and Staff, as well as invited guests of co-sponsoring organizations.

Englander is the author of the short-story collections What We Talk About When We Talk About Anne Frank, winner of the 2012 Frank O'Connor International Short Story Award, and For the Relief of Unbearable Urges, which received the Penn/Malamud. He also authored the novel The Ministry of Special Cases. In 2012, his translation New American Haggadah, edited by Jonathan Safran Foer and illustrated by the acclaimed Israeli artist Oded Ezer, was published by Little Brown. Along with his other awards, Englander has won a Guggenheim Fellowship and the Bard Fiction Prize.

The colloquium will focus on Englander's new work New American Haggadah. Participants in the colloquium are encouraged to look at the work in advance.

This event is presented by CU's English Language Notes and the Program in Jewish Studies with support from CU's Center for Western Civilization, the Department of English, Hillel at CU, the University of Denver's Center for Judaic Studies, the Boulder Jewish Community Center, and Congregation Har HaShem.
