The Search for Life in Oceans Beyond Earth

Event Description
Dr. Kevin Hand, an astrobiologist and planetary scientist at JPL, will give a lecture on the Search for Life in Oceans Beyond Earth. He has worked with film director, James Cameron, on marine biology sample return expeditions from hydrothermal vents in the mid-Atlantic ridge and East Pacific Rise, and was featured in Cameron's 2005 IMAX documentary, Aliens of the Deep. Dr. Hand is also the founder of Cosmos Education, an organization dedicated to science and technology education in the developing world.
