Event Description
Classroom dialogues between students and CU’s largely minority Housing and Dining Services staff provide experiential learning that raises cultural awareness and promotes cross-cultural understanding. This session will present recent assessment data that demonstrate how using facilitated dialogues as a teaching tool increases awareness of diversity and moves the University toward greater respect and inclusion. Dialogues integrated into course content embody culturally responsive teaching, promote civic engagement among students, and empower underrepresented members of the University community. Facilitated classroom dialogues at CU offer a pedagogical model for fostering inclusive practices that other universities could replicate. Presenters: CU Dialogues Program |
