Event Description In the spirit of Veterans Day, Program Council, in assistance with the Veteran Services Program, is proud to present 2 film screenings to honor our military veterans and their service to our country.
The first of which is V-Day 11.11.11, a volunteer-organized documentary that portraits American veterans and their service and sacrifices on Veterans Day 2011. Through this feature-length film, the audiences gain insight into what life is like for veterans during peace time and at war. It was originally releas
ed in May of this year and was directed by John Goheen of Loyola University-Chicago. See the Facebook event here: https://www.facebook.com/events/294523970647756/
The second screening is The Welcome, an Audience Award Winner at the Mill Valley, Ashland Independent and Naples Film Festivals in 2011. In an unusual setting, the film follows returning veterans to a five day healing retreat, through which we are able to experience the pain, anger and fear through poetry.
Both films will hold Q&A panels with producers and photographers involved with the movies after a brief break following the screening.
