In Honor of Hispanic Heritage Month

Event Description:
Join us in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month! We will be hosting two guest speakers. The first is Alex LaSalle, a bomba music percussionist and oral historian from Maco, Puerto Rico who will speak about the spirituality importance of the words used in bomba. Next, we have Arturo Aldama, a CU Ethnic Studies professor who will speak about the issues surrounding Columbus Day, the problematic word "Hispanic", and the history of Mexico's independence. We will have a short discussion to follow and lunch will be provided!
