Event Description
Why does the legacy of CU Professor Emerita Hazel Barnes (1915-2008), teacher, translator and philosopher, continue to reverberate across disciplines, including philosophy, literature, history, and psychology? How has existentialism influenced media, education, social change, self-perception, values, and ethics? Did you know that Barnes coined the term ‘humanistic existentialism’ to designate the philosophy of Jean-Paul Sartre, Simone Beauvoir and Albert Camus? Join a distinguished panel of Barnes colleagues and experts to learn more and join the discussion!
