Event Description A lecture by Mariko Terasaki Miller, first woman to be appointed an Honorary Consul-General of Japan. Ms. Miller, whose distinguished personal history is documented in a biography entitled “Mariko,” written by Kunio Yanagida, will talk about her childhood experiences in China during the Sino/Japanese war, the role her father Hidenari Terasaki played in negotiations between Japan and the United States prior to the outbreak of the Pacific War and the family’s internment by the Japanese authorities.
